Chartres Crypt

(In which I do not share any blurry window photos) after a nice lunch of onion soup, we took a tour of the crypt. It was in French, but the only way to get down there. The main object there is a reliquary holding what the faithful believe is the Virgin’s tunic, given by Charles the Bald in c. 876 to help with fundraising. We also saw the well which was a site of pilgrimage even before the cathedral was built. Mass is held in this chapel regularly.
