I did not take any time to blog the past few days, but will make up for it I hope. We have just left Giverny, the village where Claude Monet lived for 40 years and where he built a garden. I had the great pleasure of painting in this garden the first evening. I couldn’t quite believe it at first. The lady in the ticket office said “closed, closed” but the guard told her “Artiste! Artiste!”. It was like a secret handshake. Everybody left, but my magic Artiste ticket allowed me to stay. There were some very nice American photographers but no other painters. I set up at the lily pond. Time passed so quickly, it felt like I was there about 30 minutes but it was over two hours. I will finish this later.
After returning to our B&B we had a delicious home cooked supper with our hosts. This is the B&B l’Oree de Giverny
