Giverny II

When I painted the first evening, the famous water lilies were all closed. So, even though we knew it would be crowded, we went to the garden first thing (after a delicious breakfast at our B&B). It was raining off & on, so the crowds were much lighter than we’d seen yesterday. The lilies were open. We found a dry spot on a bench & I drew the pond for an hour or so. Monet’s house was very interesting. He decorated exclusively with Japanese prints. His dining room was bright yellow – walls and all furniture painted the same color- with blue & white china.
